Low Budget.

Random props and models done for very fast turn around productions. Dealing with
no time or budget while trying to make it look good enough.

With fast turn around low budget, there is no room to get fancy. Helmets and packs were made from wood and putty then reproduced in fibreglass. They usually had internal lights and a fan.

It was rare to make more than four, unless made from old props. The top are reworked Space Above and Beyond and the bottom are made on supplied bicycle and welding helmets.

Different types of cryo containers were always wood with plastic shapes to detail them. These were always hit and miss as far as working properly on set. Always a lot of grief, but we got it done.

Props on average were a couple of days to make and usually OK if supplied designs were simple. The camera at top was more difficult so was important to get people onto it ASAP as it took a lot longer.

Low budget models were usually model kits dressed up a bit. The landscape was the art director raiding our parts box for pieces to put on the side of an actual quarry.

Simple props were often just kit bashed from existing parts. These were never moulded (no time or budget) and were always a risk to hand to an actor. They often broke.
